Yeast Infection Pictures

Finding yeast infection pictures on the internet used to be difficult and time-consuming. Not any more. I have managed to find several yeast infection photos, and I have published them here to help you learn more about yeast infections (also called candidiasis). The pictures include these conditions:
-Oral yeast infection
-Skin yeast infection
-Female yeast infection
-Male yeast infection

Oral Yeast Infection Photos

Photo of oral yeast infection. Note the white patches (or plaques). This infection is usually caused by a yeast called Candida albicans.

Oral Yeast Infection Pictures #2

A second manifestation of oral yeast infection is infection in the corners of the mouth (called angular cheilitis).

Skin Yeast Infection Photo

Skin yeast infection (underarm area). Yeast likes infecting skin folds because it is warm, moist and protected. It may also cause a similar appearance under the breasts and in the groin (see picture below).

Yeast Infection of Fingernail

Also called "candidal paronychia", this is a picture of a yeast infection of the skin around a fingernail

Groin Yeast Infection

Groin yeast infection (also called tinea cruris). Note the red and itchy skin rash on both sides. The red dots at the edges are called "satellite lesions" and are areas where new patches of yeast are growing.

Yeast Infection Up Close

This is a magnified image of Candida albicans, the organism that causes most yeast infections. To get close up yeast infection pictures like this requires sampling infected tissue.
